Urban Air Mobility: Future-oriented transport system from the Aerospace Region Munich

As part of a newly launched Air Mobility Initiative (AMI), Bavarian companies and researchers from the Munich Aerospace research group “Urban Air Mobility” are accelerating the development of electric air transport. In a newly published online course, participants of the initiative provide insights into this exciting future field.

Since 2018, the Munich Aerospace research group “Modelling, Simulation, Optimisation and Concepts of Urban Air Mobility Transport Systems”, headed by Dr Kay Plötner (Bauhaus Luftfahrt), has been researching the added value of the new transport system together with the Chair of Networked Transport Systems at the Technical University of Munich. In the new Air Mobility Initiative, the researchers are supporting the areas of “electric aircraft”, “air traffic management” and “vertiport” in particular. The project aims to advance the development of regional and urban air mobility and is funded by the Free State of Bavaria and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Numerous experts from the initiative provide insights into their issues as part of Munich Aerospace’s new online course “Urban Air Mobility”. Numerous modules are already freely accessible to the public, others will appear within the next few weeks.
